Choose ONE of two routes for the same 14 household stops. Ages 4 to 6 use large literal pictures and matching landmark symbols, with no reading needed by the child. The grown-up demonstrates symbol matching and reads the invitation and ending aloud. Ages 7 to 10 use five birthday rhymes and nine word puzzles, including first and last letters, letter removal, sums, alternate letters, a two-fact filter, an alphabet shift, indexed letters and a final label-order deduction. Reader difficulty varies; confident older children may solve some cards quickly.
Each card points to one marked object. The host receives exact safe-tuck notes, room and object write-in lines, fourteen printable landmark markers and a checked next-card placement table. Separate every search zone and tuck packets out of sight. This is one cooperative walking hunt, with rotating finder turns and a sibling helper as piece keeper and hint coach. It is not ten separate competitive trails. A solo child can use the grown-up as helper.
The invitation on page 7 has a printed write-in name line AND one fillable PDF text field in all four files. Download and open the PDF in a viewer that supports forms, type a name, save a copy and print. If a viewer cannot fill it, write on the line after printing. Only that name line is editable. Clue cards, custom cards and certificates are handwritten. This is not a fully editable template or a personalized service; no child details need to be sent to us.
Choose one of seven age-number sheets, for ages 4 through 10. Cut that sheet into 14 rectangles and hide one with each NEXT card according to the planner. At the finale, everyone matches the pieces to the mat by shape; tiny numbers also help readers. Keep the reward out of sight with the host until the number is complete. A shared story, dance or game chosen by the birthday child can be the reward. No purchased prize, food or balloons are needed.
Each PDF contains 27 pages. That is one cover, four host planning pages, one landmark-marker sheet, one editable name invitation, four picture-card sheets, four reader-card sheets, one assembly mat, seven alternative age-piece sheets, one four-card custom sheet, two graded hint-and-answer sheets and one certificate. Each route includes its own F return card and sibling helper badge on its last card sheet. The two editions reuse the same destinations; they are 28 clue cards for 14 stops, not 28 different hiding places.
Print only one route and one age sheet. Core printing is 8 shared sheets plus one certificate per child: 9 sheets for one child or 18 for ten. Host references may stay on screen; print an extra custom sheet only if replacing a destination. Supply a printer, paper, pencil, grown-up scissors, removable tape, a bowl or envelope for pieces and the fourteen listed household objects, arranged at separate low dry search zones. Optional envelopes and a covered reward are household supplies, not included physical items.
Allow an estimated 20 to 30 minutes for setup, 20 to 30 minutes for the picture route or 30 to 45 minutes for the reader route. These times have not been measured in family sessions. The number mosaic, symbol matching and word tasks are software-checked; rhyme interpretation and suitability of your home require host judgement. Puzzle answers and the route can be remembered on replay. Four handwritten custom cards let you replace places while retaining all fourteen pieces. The birthday workshop and assembled age finale are specific to this kit.

A grown-up cuts, hides and supervises the hunt. Walk together and keep every stop low, dry and separate. Use stable objects; no climbing, heavy lifting, doors in motion, cords, heat, glass handling, water, chemicals or medicines. Use an empty open backpack, laundry basket and toy box; no lids in use. Flatten the rug corner immediately. Keep rewards with the host until the finish. Replace any unsuitable place using a custom card. Food is optional; ask a grown-up.
