What is included
- 5 short cases + linked archive finale
- 15 evidence puzzles + senior challenges
- Notebook, graded hints, pouch + badges
Fifteen evidence puzzles use print comparison, a ticket-shape grid, a marked tie, event ordering, torn-ticket reconstruction, number codes, a window stencil, an illustrated fold, relational drawer logic, overlapping cards, reversed-record comparison, a distance route and a cart-load constraint. Only two tasks use measurement. Each case has eight balanced candidate records; all three evidence facts are needed.
Play one three-page case today or spread five sessions across a week. The five cases stand alone. Save one detail from each in your notebook, then use all five in the sixth archive case. The ending invites your team to host a detective exhibition. Explain discoveries by speaking, pointing, sketching or writing. Five different discovery slips replace repeated written proofs. Optional senior challenges include a two-trip manifest with an arrival-order constraint.
Four PDFs, each with 29 pages: Letter and A4, both in colour and greyscale. Each version contains 17 player case pages, one notebook, one optional fingerprint drawing and paper-pouch craft page, one badge and certificate page, three opening reference pages and six host hint and solution pages. The four versions repeat the same six fixed cases; surprise on replay is limited.
Print one short case: 3 sheets per team, plus notebook p21 if saving a finale detail. All six cases and notebook: 18 sheets per team. Craft and badges add 2 per child. For three pairs solving in parallel, print one extra evidence-bench copy per case: +1 sheet for one case, +5 for all five. Host pages can stay on screen. Supply paper and pencils; the optional pouch also uses a blank sheet and tape. No hidden objects, real fingerprints, locks or costumes are needed.
Estimated play is 15 to 25 minutes per short case and 10 to 15 minutes for the archive after all five. Optional craft adds 10 to 15 minutes. Setup takes about 5 to 10 minutes per session. Strong readers may finish faster. These times have not been measured in family or classroom sessions. Ages 7 to 8 may need reading, grid and multistep help.
For 1 to 6 detectives plus a grown-up helper. Share three evidence tasks among pairs using the extra bench copy, then meet for the report. Every case has a nudge, worked step and full solution. Observable details support the story explanations. Hints never remove a badge. The tabletop listing image is an illustration of a case sheet, notebook and folded pouch. It is not a photograph of printed materials.

Puzzle mechanics are generated and checked by our own software. Writing was developed with help from AI tools. All artwork is original vector art. Play times are estimates and depend on reading help and group size.
A grown-up helps with reading and keeps solutions private. This is a seated paper game. The optional pouch craft uses paper and tape; a grown-up handles any cutting. Draw pretend fingerprints without ink or powders. Use the pouch for paper drawings only.
