Choose picture cards for ages 4 to 9, with adult reading help for younger children, or use the 40 Big Kid rhyme-and-code alternatives for confident readers about 8 to 10. Big Kid cards have a decoder strip on each page and a separate code answer key, with no spot pictures, room labels or Elf checks. Pick one of 3 ready-made routes (6, 10 or 15 stops), or plan your own with the blank route planner and 8 blank cards. Ready routes change rooms at each step and use each spot and furniture surface once. Keep the gift out of sight at the final spot (cover a large present), since that room is visited earlier.
