One full-page puzzle chapter a day from December 13 to 24. Tally pictures, trace a letter maze, decode a number key, follow coordinates, run an arithmetic machine, order tiles, search for words, untangle three anagrams, match badges, solve a picture grid, balance numbers and reason about switches. Each day earns one letter for the final panel.
The core starts with counting and following routes, then adds matching and multi-step reasoning. Ages 6 to 8 need grown-up reading and solving help, especially with multiplication, division, ordering and balances. Every day has an optional extension; later extensions ask older children to test missing clues, compare possible arrangements and prove a deduction. Confident older children may finish early core puzzles in a minute or two. Reading, tracking and story actions add time; all timings are estimates.
The final panel uses all twelve letters in a new order. A grown-up checks every slot before handing over the folded reveal letter. The hall opens with twelve glowing lanterns, a table set for your crew and three tiny keepsakes to spot from earlier chapters. Discover the caretaker's surprise, name the hall and complete your own welcome sign. No present or extra purchase is needed.
Start any day. A catch-up planner offers two-chapter days, a later finale or grown-up rescue letters. Daily puzzles stand alone, so a missed day never blocks tomorrow. The printed dates are a suggested Christmas schedule, rather than the traditional Christmas-to-January twelve-day period.
Each PDF has 24 pages including 12 daily puzzle chapters, the calendar, cast and key, finale, reveal letter, catch-up planner, cover and 6 host reference pages. A shared family needs 16 printed sheets for the core experience; host hints can stay on screen. Full graded hints, worked steps, solutions and optional challenge answers are included.
